Quantifying the Contribution of Agricultural and Urban Non-Point Source Pollutant Loads in Watershed with Urban Agglomeration

چکیده
Urban agglomeration is a new characteristic of the Chinese urbanization process, and most urban located in same watershed. Thus, non-point source (NPS) pollution, especially pollutants areas, aggravates NPS pollution at watershed scale. Many agricultural studies have been performed scale; however, few provided study framework for estimating an catchment. In this study, integrated approach was proposed by coupling Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), event mean concentration (EMC) method Storm Management Model (SWMM). The Hun-Taizi River watershed, which contains typical northeastern China, chosen as case. results indicated that per unit areas total nitrogen (TN) phosphorus (TP) built-up area simulated EMC were 11.9% 23 times higher than values SWAT. SWAT greatly underestimated nutrient yield area. This could provide guidance water environment management plans considering

Pre- and post-fire pollutant loads in an urban fringe watershed in Southern California.
Post-fire runoff has the potential to be a large source of contaminants to downstream areas. However, the magnitude of this effect in urban fringe watersheds adjacent to large sources of airborne contaminants is not well documented. The current study investigates the impacts of wildfire on stormwater contaminant loading from the upper Arroyo Seco watershed, burned in 2009. This watershed is adj...
متن کاملCharacteristics of Urban and Peri-Urban Sheep Production Systems and Economic Contribution in Highlands of Ethiopia
This study was initiated to characterize urban and peri-urban sheep production systems and their economic importance in and around the towns of Debre Berhan and Dessie, Ethiopia. The study was undertaken using group discussions, structured questionnaire and personal observations. In both locations the majority of sheep producers were male household heads and predominantly traders in urban and f...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Pollutant Dispersion from Point Source in an Urban Area
In this paper, pollutant dispersion from point source was investigated numerically in an urban area. Numerical simulations were carried out using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models. The CFD models used for the simulation were based on the steadystate Reynolds-Average Navier-Stoke equations (RANS) with κ-ε turbulence models. A gas pollutant was emitted from a point source within the wake ...
متن کاملEPISODIC STREAM-AQUIFER INTERACTIONS IN A PENNSnVANIA URBAN/AGRICULTURAL WATERSHED
It is hypothesized that overland flow from urbanizing and agricultural land uses will enhance stream-groundwater interactions. Near-channel groundwater chemistry and hydraulics were studied during runoff events to test this hypothesis and to increase the understanding of hyporheic processes important to stream chemistry and ecology. Twenty-four piezometers (0.3to 1-meter depth) were installed a...
متن کاملEssays on Urban Agglomeration
This thesis examines several distinct aspects of agglomeration externalities within an urban economy. In particular, the work focuses on location decisions of agents who face trade-offs between advantages in dense locations versus cheaper land prices available in suburban and exurban regions of the city. Two general equilibrium models of location are presented which study different aspects of l...
